Nov. 14 (Washington Post) -- Three Southern Mississippi players are in fair condition at a Hattiesburg hospital after being shot during a fight at a nightclub early Sunday morning, city police spokesman Sgt. Allen Murray told the Associated Press. Hours after Southern Mississippi earned a 31-21 win at then-No. 25 Central Florida, fifth-year senior linebacker Martez Smith, junior linebacker Tim Green and junior defensive end Deddrick Jones were involved in a fight that began inside Remington's Hunt Club before spilling into the parking lot, where the shootings occurred. Green and Jones had played against Central Florida. Smith - previously the starting middle linebacker - suffered a season-ending knee injury in October. . . .
