Jack Mello first came to Maxwell’s in Hoboken, New Jersey, in the early 1980s to see a then-little- known band called R.E.M. He since has attended hundreds of shows at the club, most recently to watch the Feelies perform their July 4th farewell concerts before the venue closes next week.
–- Peter Blachley, owner of the Morrison Hotel Gallery, and Jesse Frohman, photographer of the Kurt Cobain exhibit to be featured at Dream Downtown - Morrison Hotel Gallery’s new partner - discuss the genesis of the gallery and the Frohman photo shoot which turned out to be Cobain’s last with Nirvana before his death. The exhibit opens at the Dream Downtown Friday, April 5, twenty years to the day after Cobain’s death.
